The first day of the Anniversary Weekend celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Siemens Festival>Nights offers an opulent programme of selections from various Salzburg Festival seasons, featuring (orchestra) concerts, opera screenings, anniversary speeches and the 2013 Jedermann.
The detailed programme:
11:00 am Daniel Barenboim conducts the 2010 anniversary concert celebrating the 50-year anniversary of the Großes Festspielhaus with works by Beethoven, Boulez and Bruckner.
12:30 pm Sven-Eric Bechtolf’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the 2014 Salzburg Festival with Ildebrando D’Arcangelo in the title role.
4:00 pm Anniversary Celebration: 15 Years of the Siemens Festival>Nights
4:30 pm The new production of Jedermann directed by Julian Crouch and Brian Mertes in 2013, with Cornelius Obonya in the title role.
7:00 pm Willy Decker’s legendary production of Verdi’s La Traviata with the dream couple of Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón at the 2005 Salzburg Festival.
10:30 pm Rudolf Buchbinder plays Beethoven Piano Sonatas at the 2014 Salzburg Festival.
